Gomez was close with singer Christina Grimmie, The Voice contestant who was murdered in the summer of 2016. According to Billboard, Gomez broke down in tears onstage in June 2016 and dedicated a song to Grimmie, weeping, "When she was 14, we met her and my parents and I signed her ...
