Will Smith made sure that Venus and Serena were part of the film's production as much as they could, which meant they would see through filming and give necessary details as executive producers to Will, who played King Richard.
However, despite the fantastic reviews of the movie, an author still criticized how the biopic was told as she believes the film focused more on Venus and Serena's life. However, the film was still named after the legendary Venus and Serena's father instead of them.

2 Isha Price Knew Venus And Serena Were Going To Be Successful
In an Interview Isha had with The Telegraph, she said, "Us older girls knew that Venus and Serena [Williams] were going to be successful from when they were nine or ten because they [Venus and Serena] enjoyed it [playing tennis] so much. We just believed it would happen, even though tennis wasn't a part of the community we grew up in."
