Wendy Malick Wiki Biography
Wendie Malick was born on 13 December 1950, in Buffalo, New York State USA, of Egyptian, French, English, and German descent. Wendie began as a fashion model, and is now a voice artist and actress, best known for being part of several television shows, including “Dream On” and “Just Shoot Me!” in which she played Nina Van Horn. All of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Wendie Malick? As of early-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $16 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. For her work in “Just Shoot Me!” she earned several nominations. She was also cast in the series “Hot in Cleveland” and all of these achievements have ensured the position of her wealth.
Wendie Malick Net Worth $16 million
Malick attended Williamsville South High School, and after matriculating registered at Ohio Wesleyan University. She graduated in 1972, and would then start a career as a fashion model for Wilhelmina modeling agency. She left her modelling career to become part of the staff of Republican Congressman Jack Kemp, but after a period of work there, she decided to pursue an acting career, becoming a part of the film “A Little Sex” in 1982. She was then cast in the medical drama series “Trauma Center” which, however, only lasted a season. Later in the decade, she began appearing in television comedies, making a guest appearance in “Kate & Allie”. She also had a supporting role in “Scrooged” starring Bill Murray. Her net worth was well set.
In 1990, she was cast in the HBO series “Dream On” and would stay with the show for six years. Her net worth was starting to increase at a quick pace during this period. She would win four CableACE Awards thanks to her performances. She also appeared in other series such as “NYPD Blue”, “Tales from the Crypt”, “Seinfeld”, and “L.A. Law”. Over the next few years, she would have parts in television movies including “Apollo 11” and “Dynasty: the Reunion”. She also did independent work, becoming part of the drama film “Jerome”. In 1996, Wendie would get her first lead role in the series “Good Company”, however, the show was cancelled after just six episodes. The following year, she was cast in “Just Shoot Me!” as the former supermodel Nina Van Horn. She stayed with the show until 2003 and got two Primetime Emmy Award nominations as well as a Golden Globe nomination. While being a part of that show, she also starred in the Disney animated film “The Emperor’s New Groove” and made a guest appearance in “The X-Files”.
In 2003, Malick was cast in the TV series “Frasier” – which is a “Cheers” spin-off – playing the lounge singer Ronee Lawrence who would eventually marry Martin Crane in the series finale. The show would become critically acclaimed. She also starred in the film “Manna from Heaven” and would do voice work for the series “Filmore!” Two years later, she became a part of the comedy show “Jake in Progress”, and was cast in “Modern Men” but commitments led her to back out of the project. She was then cast in “Bratz” as the voice of Burdine Maxwell.
Afterwards, she would make numerous guest appearances including in “Law & Order” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”. While doing television work, she also had several film projects, including “Confessions of a Shopaholic” and “Adventureland”. In 2010, Malick was cast in the comedy series “Hot in Cleveland” through to its final season, which proved to be a hit, so her net worth started increasing further thanks to the show’s success. She would then be cast in the series “Rush Hour”, which is based on the film franchise of the same name. One of her latest projects is a guest appearance in “NCIS: New Orleans”.
For her personal life, it is known that Wendie was married to screenwriter Mitch Glazer from 1982 to 1989. In 1995, she married Richard Erickson and they reside in Santa Monica. Wendie is a pescetarian and owns three dogs. She also regularly donates to various organizations and causes.
