When Did Heather Armstrong Die?, Age, Funeral: Born on July 19, 1975, Heather Armstrong, officially known as Heather B. Armstrong was an American blogger from Salt Lake City, Utah.

She wrote under the pseudonym of Dooce, a pseudonym that came from her inability to quickly spell “dude” during online chats with her former co-workers.

Heather Armstrong started her career in blogging in 2001 and lost her job as a web designer the following year after her coworkers discovered she had been writing about them.

On his blog, she gave coworkers nicknames like That One Co-worker Who Manages to Say Something Stupid Every Time He Opens His Mouth.

After her termination, she continued blogging and eventually found success in the 2000s documenting the ups and downs of motherhood on her blogging website Dooce.

Her firing, and the reason for it, ignited a public debate about privacy – and boosted traffic to her blog.

In 2009, Armstrong was named one of Forbes’ Most Influential Women, the same year she released her memoir, It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown and a Much Needed Margarita.

Though she took some breaks from the blog, she returned to blogging full-time in 2017, shifting her focus away from her family and to discussions about mental health.

She was one of the first and most popular so-called “mummy bloggers”, who wrote frankly about her children, relationships and struggles with alcohol, and depression.

Sadly the Mommy blogger has died. Heather Armstrong passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Her death was announced Wednesday, May 20 on Instagram.

“Heather Brooke Hamilton aka Heather B. Armstrong aka dooce aka love of my life,” the caption of a selfie of her reads. “July 19, 1975 – May 9, 2023. ‘It takes an ocean not to break.’ Hold your loved ones close and love everyone else.”

Armstrong died by suicide after a recent relapse following 18 months of sobriety, her boyfriend Pete Ashdown disclosed in an interview saying he found her (Armstrong) on Tuesday night at their Salt Lake City home.

A fluid and candid writer, she had long chronicled her struggles with severe depression and alcoholism. She had more recently been criticized for promoting anti-trans sentiments on her blog dooce.com.
